Upon conviction of any person of the violation of any portion of an ordinance of the town of South Prairie, the person convicted, in case the police justice imposes a sentence of imprisonment on such person, shall be imprisoned in the appropriate jail in accordance with such sentence and in case of failure of any person to pay any fine and costs adjudged against such person by such police justice, such person shall be imprisoned in the appropriate jail for one day for each $25.00 of such fine and costs that remain unpaid.
