The town should respect the natural environment in any future development.

Continue to amend and adopt land development regulations that ensure no net loss of shoreline ecological functions.

Ensure compatibility of shoreline land uses with topography, geology, soil suitability, surface water, ground water, wetlands, and wildlife.

Preserve existing vegetation as much as possible to maintain vital shoreline ecological functions.

Development on slopes in excess of 30 percent, the South Prairie Creek Shoreline, other wetlands, and critical areas should be discouraged.
