The town of South Prairie has prepared this Unified Development Code (UDC) to guide the town, developers, and citizens when development occurs within the town. The development that results from growth within the town may take many forms, including:

New or remodeled commercial or industrial buildings;

New or remodeled citizen housing, including single-family homes, multifamily homes, manufactured homes, and mobile home parks;

Property development, including land subdivision and/or clearing, filling, or grading.

It is the desire of the town that the quality of life in South Prairie continues as the town population grows and the town expands. A key component to maintaining and improving the quality of life for citizens is establishing clear requirements and standards that guide development as it occurs. This UDC provides clear requirements at the beginning of the development review process to individuals or entities wishing to develop within the town. [Ord. 378 § 2 (Exh. 1), 1999.]
